Wiss Shadow wins Janos Brody Memorial

Her dam Wiss Favourite is from Mohegan by Zoot Suit from the Ego Hanover mare Pocahontas. Off at 17/1 Wiss Shadow defeated 3.1/1 Spartakus Ans (g Cantab Hall-Valganna OK-Lemon Dra) driven by Sandor Varga for trainer Goran Zolnaji. 7.5/1 Milliondollar Lux (10m Ganymede-Dadaumpa Jet-Supergill) landed third for trainer/driver Emil Csordas. Passion Grif was a vet scratch.

On the undercard, the 600,000Huf Koppany DIJ, contested over 1900 meters, went to Prudy (7f Stallone Jet-Ustione-Sebastian Bob) at 1.6/1 for driver/owner Vito Sadl. Tibor Hajnal trains the winner that was timed in 1.17.7kr and she recorded her fourth consecutive victory. 3.6/1 Zavita Meerswal (10f Good As Gold-Davidia Storm-Quikc Pay) was second for Csaba Lakatos with 4.4/1 Ripley (f Tony Oaks-Emma Boss-Crown Sweep) third for trainer/driver Veljko Mazsity.

The 1900 meter autostart Csapodar DIJ for 400,000Huf went to 18.8/1 outside Tiko Time (4m Belami-Golden Zeit) for amateur driver Andrea Fazekas, just back from a victory at Pompano Park in the USA. Ms. Fazekas ralled late in this one and just missed by a nose before being awarded the win on a disqualification of the winner. Imre Fazekas , Andrea’s father, trains Tiko Time. Topaz Lady (4f Ata Star L-Golden Lady-Endless Sands) was first placed second, driven by trainer Sandor Varga, with third to 5.6/1 Red Bull (6m Simb Illusion-Gyongyharmat-Yankee Yankee) for trainer/driver Csaba Lakatos. Race time was 1.19.7kr.

Earlier in the card was the Ocean DIJ (purse 360,000Huf, 1900 meters autostart) and 1.9/1 favored Temass (4f Naglo-Delfine Dei-Uronometro) record an easy 1.18.2kr victory for trainer/driver Imre Fazekas. Stablemate Sunny (5g Oncoming Hush-Vivian Key-Crowning Point) ralled from far back to be second, driven by Gyorgy Horvath, also just back from Florida with his wife Andrea Fazekas. 10.4/1 Suzy (5f Wall Street Banker-Astalavista-Gus Lobell) held third in a photo for Viktoria Nemeth and trainer Lajos Marton.

Pre-card there was an interesting qualifier that was won by US import Working Out (7m Muscles Yankee-Enjoy Our Nanny-Enjoy Lavec) for driver Pal Vicen and trainer Csaba Lakatos. Working Out last raced in the USA on October 7, 2016 at Freehold New Jersey in a stakes event, that was won by Market Share. He then reappeared on April 13 and 20 of 2013 at Kincsem Park, winning twice, defeating Ollyan Nincs in the second week. He then raced two heats on May 4, 2013 and has been off for nearly three years since. Working Out’s dam, a 1:59.2 winner for US$36,188, also has produced Enjoy Chocolate 1:57,3, by Chocolatier. The second dam Our Nanny (Bonefish-Nan Hanover) produced two solid fast-class European winners, Gate Open 1:57.3 (US$191,904) by Armbro Goal and Half Moon 1.56.1 (US$311,035) by Ulf d’Omnree. Nan Hanover produced US$766,074 winner Nan’s Catch, she dam of legendary US$5.59 million winning Moni Maker, plus aforementioned Our Nanny and Cigar Dan.

This day Working Out defeated another interesting performer, Euklid AT (3m Even Better Odds-Echalote-Credit Winner), that was a lightly raced winner at age two in Serbia. Tibor Hajnal now trains and drives Euklid AT. His dam is from Every Inch A Lady by Buvetier d’Aunou-Esther Williams-William Vee. Esther Williams produced Endless Vacation, a US$174,000 winning son of Pershing. Euklid AT’s sire, Even Better Odds, is a forgotten US$178,000 earning US stakes (Walnut Hall Cup) winning son of Cantab Hall-Better Odds-Pine Chip with a 1:54.3 record. Better Odds produced two winners of the Acorn including US$189,000 earning Cantab It All and the third dam is Ah So, that produced the legendary Workaholic plus Rule The Wind and Working Gal, the US$450,000 winner of the Colonial Lady, Hambletonian Oaks and Lady Suffolk.
