On North American tracks it’s all about speed over a mile trip, in Australia it’s a mix of both standing start and mobile features across a range of track sizes, in New Zealand it could be about an extreme two-mile contest or a grass track race featuring non-race winners and in Europe the champion trotter is celebrated as a king of the track.
In Harnesslink Race Replays Of The Week we bring you a snapshot into the very best contests from around the harness racing tracks of the world.
Here’s our latest offering from the last seven days (week ended 14th February)
EUROPEAN FEATURE
The rich Prix de France was run on Sunday with an outstanding field contesting the 400’000 Euro feature over a short course mobile. In the end it was Vivid Wise AS that prevails in the busy struggle to the winning post. Vision here courtesy of LeTrot.
NORTH AMERICAN FEATURE
Jimmy Freight made his legion of followers sit up and take notice in the Woodbine Mohawk Preferred on Saturday. The $24/1 winner proving too strong for race rivals, increasing his earnings well over the 1.5million mark in the process. Watch as the grand campaigner reminds us all of his undeniable class.
AUSTRALIAN FEATURE
The speed merchant Stylish Memphis can win from anywhere and that was the case in the Group 2 Sibelia Stakes last week. A patient drive by Jack Trainor meant the class mare had to truly fly over the last furlong to snare the victory. Watch as her wings are put into action-mode here.
NEW ZEALAND FEATURE
It’s not often you see a horse paying $100 winning but throw in the fact that it’s a 100/1 shot winning on a premier night of racing at Alexandra Park and you really do have something out of the ordinary. Watch as Magic Four upsets them all to win the $200’000 Harness Million for Colts and Geldings.
We’ll be back with more Race Replays of the Week in seven days time.
