On North American harness racing tracks it’s all about speed over a mile trip, in Australia it’s a mix of both standing start and mobile features across a range of track sizes, in New Zealand it could be about an extreme two-mile contest or a grass track race featuring non-race winners and in Europe the champion trotter is celebrated as a king of the track.
In Harnesslink Race Replays Of The Week we bring you a snapshot into the very best contests from around the harness racing tracks of the world.
AUSTRALIAN FEATURE
Amanda Rando covered the $100,000 Group 1 Gold Chalice from Bathurst last week. The rich feature victory was part of a magical night for the Hewitt family as their star Ripp claimed a deserved victory when driven by Doug Hewitt. In the the smart and consistent sectionals meant the margin of victory was most impressive with race rivals unable to stay with the talented son of Somebeachsomewhere. Watch the fine display below.
NEW ZEALAND FEATURE
It was another feature night of racing at Alexandra Park on Friday last week with a number of top races being decided. The Northern Oaks proved to be a very exciting affair with True Fantasy attempting to continue her strong run of Group racing form. In the end the nail-biting last furlong meant a photo finish was needed to decide this one. Watch the drama unfold here.
