On North American harness racing tracks it’s all about speed over a mile trip, in Australia it’s a mix of both standing start and mobile features across a range of track sizes, in New Zealand it could be about an extreme two-mile contest or a grass track race featuring non-race winners and in Europe the champion trotter is celebrated as a king of the track.
In Harnesslink Race Replays Of The Week we bring you a snapshot into the very best contests from around the harness racing tracks of the world.
NORTH AMERICAN FEATURE
The 11th race at Western Fair on the 18th of May proved to be a race to watch as multiple drivers involved in the contest threw caution to the wind down the back straight for the last time making lightning moves into the fray wide on the track. In the end it was Homey Joe proving too strong over the concluding stages for Brett MacDonald.
NEW ZEALAND FEATURE
The running of the Roy Purdon memorial took place at Alexandra Park on Friday night. Fittingly it was the Mark Purdon driven Self Assured who prevailed in a tight contest over the Arna Donnelly trained Kango. The Barry Purdon and Scott Phelan trained Bad To The Bone completed the trifecta.
Race replays of the week will be back at the same time next week
