On North American harness racing tracks it’s all about speed over a mile trip, in Australia it’s a mix of both standing start and mobile features across a range of track sizes, in New Zealand it could be about an extreme two-mile contest or a grass track race featuring non-race winners and in Europe the champion trotter is celebrated as a king of the track.

NORTH AMERICAN FEATURE
The Kiwi import Majorca N (Art Major) continues to impress on North American soil. The class mare making short work of her race rivals in capturing the $100,000 Betsy Ross at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Sunday (May 29) The clocked 1.49.3 represented a best time for the Tim Tetrick driven mare. EUROPEAN FEATURE
One of the great races of the harness racing world took place on Sunday with the running of the 2022 Elitloppet at Solvalla, Sweden. With the Eliminations and Final on the same card it’s all about those who can back-up and remain competitive after the initial effort to make the final proper. In the end the talented, Timoko sired Etonnant (4th in his elimination) proved too strong in the final, unleashing a withering burst to score down the outer in fine style for driver Anthony Barrier. NEW ZEALAND FEATURE
The Auckland Cup took place at Alexandra Park on Friday night and attracted a strong field of open-class pacers. The extreme 3200m standing start race makes for a war of attrition and the pace was on throughout the running with multiple lead changes. In the end a mid-race move to the front and then the trail proved the winning of the race for the Mark Purdon and Hayden Cullen trained Self Assured (Bettor’s Delight) .
