On North American harness racing tracks it’s all about speed over a mile trip, in Australia it’s a mix of both standing start and mobile features across a range of track sizes, in New Zealand it could be about an extreme two-mile contest or a grass track race featuring non-race winners and in Europe the champion trotter is celebrated as a king of the track.
In Harnesslink Race Replays Of The Week we bring you a snapshot into the very best contests from around the harness racing tracks of the world.
Here’s our latest offering from the last seven days (week ended 7th of August)
AMERICAN FEATURE
The Meadowlands hosted a cracking card on their Hambletonian Day celebrations on Saturday. The feature race was always going to be the highlight on the wonderful card and it lived up to expectations. Cool Papa Bell proved too strong for his race rivals and captured the title. Watch the replay below.
CANADIAN FEATURE
Nicholas Barnsdale reported on the rich Pure Ivory final at Woodbine-Mohawk Park last week. The feature event saw a longshot prevail in the form of Tactical Planner. The driver doing that tactical planning was one Tyler Jones who, with a drive that showed great patience, steered the filly wider on the track to mount a lasting charge to the line. Watch the replay here.
AUSTRALIAN FEATURE
Anya Whitelaw reported for the Western Advocate last on a milestone moment for Matt Rue as the reinsman posted his 1000th victory. The win and achievement came when driving at the Parkes Harness Racing Club aboard $3.10 favourite Art Legend. Watch the replay below.
We’ll be back with more replays at the same time next week.
