On North American tracks it’s all about speed over a mile trip, in Australia it’s a mix of both standing start and mobile features across a range of track sizes, in New Zealand it could be about an extreme two-mile contest or a grass track race featuring non-race winners and in Europe the champion trotter is celebrated as a king of the track.
In Harnesslink Race Replays Of The Week we bring you a snapshot into the very best contests from around the harness racing tracks of the world.
AUSTRALIAN FEATURE RACE
Amanda Rando reported for Harnesslink on the rich and competitive Cranbourne Cup as a class field contested the Group feature on Saturday night. It proved to be an upset win as the favoured types in the NZ Cup winner Copy That and the class mare Amazing Dream both found the going too tough in the late stages. Watch the replay here.
NORTH AMERICAN FEATURE RACE
It’s a story of experience this week from North America as 83-year-old Bob Nadeau once again showed that age is no barrier to winning. WATCH as he flies late on a ghostly grey to bring up another victory this time at First Tracks Cumberland.
NEW ZEALAND FEATURE RACE
One of the biggest mares races on the New Zealand harness racing calendar is the Queen Of Hearts. Alexandra Park played host to the near $100’000 feature on Friday night. Class mare Bettor Twist once again proved her leading mare status against a strong field. Watch as they scorch around the “Ribbon Of Light”
Harnesslink will be back with another edition of race replays of the Week again next week.
