On North American harness racing tracks it’s all about speed over a mile trip, in Australia it’s a mix of both standing start and mobile features across a range of track sizes, in New Zealand it could be about an extreme two-mile contest or a grass track race featuring non-race winners and in Europe the champion trotter is celebrated as a king of the track.
In Harnesslink Race Replays Of The Week we bring you a snapshot into the very best contests from around the harness racing tracks of the world.
Here’s our latest offering from the last seven days (week ended 23rd of October)
AMERICAN FEATURE
Earthwindfire hit all the right notes at Freehold Raceway on Saturday. The Jack Pelling driven two-year-old pacing filly posted a new track record in winning the 8th race of the day. The new mark now stands at 1:53.4.
CANADIAN FEATURE
In Woodbine Mohawk action Jiggy Jog S sent a message to Breeders Crown rivals when lowering the track record for three-year-old trotting fillies while winning her elimination. Watch the slick 1.51.2 effort below.
AUSTRALIAN FEATURE
Amanda Rando covered the excellent 1:49.6 win of Braeview Kelly at Menangle on Saturday. The fast time proved enough for the former New Zealander to take out the Group 3 Frith Stakes. Watch the replay below.
NEW ZEALAND FEATURE
Ashburton hosted a feature card on Sunday with a number of Group features. Brad Reid covered the feature racing for us here at Harnesslinkcom. The Ashburton Flying Stakes saw BD Joe once again dictate terms and sprint them home to win but they’ll be plenty of talking points coming out of the race given some of the efforts in behind the winner.
We’ll be back in seven days time with more race repays of the week.
