Race replays of the week – Muscle Mountain returns in fine form

On North American harness racing tracks it’s all about speed over a mile trip, in Australia it’s a mix of both standing start and mobile features across a range of track sizes, in New Zealand it could be about an extreme two-mile contest or a grass track race featuring non-race winners and in Europe the champion trotter is celebrated as a king of the track.

In Harnesslink Race Replays of the Week we bring you a snapshot into the very best contests from around the harness racing tracks of the world.

USA REPLAY

Steve Wolf covered Miami Valley action from Thursday with Artatac A proving too strong in career record time in the Open Handicap Pace. The 1:48.4 enough to see off challenges – Later Dudes was second with Makin Some Noise third.

CANADIAN REPLAY

Trey Colbeck covered the roll that Tells On A Roll is on at the moment, covering the Filly & Mare preferred action from Friday. The front running effort was a good one, race rivals unable to get anywhere near the daughter of Tellitlikeitis who scored in 1:51.4. Western Wish and Wildcat Star filled the first three placings.

NEW ZEALAND REPLAY

Brad Reid covered the return of class trotter Muscle Mountain on Friday night, The Hope trained runner outlasting stablemate Midnight Dash to take out the feature trot of the night. It was a welcome return for the champion type after a disappointing result in the Dominion Handicap at the end of 2023. Watch the free-flowing squaregaiter get things done below.

AUSTRALIAN REPLAY

John Dunne covered a real feel-good story last week, touching on the story of Trevor White, and, as part of the narrative, highlighting a recent win by a 13yr-old Dust To Diamonds in the Leeton Soldiers Club Pace. It’s a story worth reading regarding just another of the great participants that keep harness racing going through their love and dedication to the sport and animals they work with.
