It has not been uncommon to see the regular appearance of Sweet Lou progeny winning races daily across Australasia lately, but on Friday he achieved a new harness racing milestone winning 11 races in total on both sides of the Tasman
This included a treble at Addington Raceway, doubles at Gloucester Park, Launceston and Ballarat and he got the Quinella in the $100,000 Wagga Wagga Regional Championship Final.
On a feature night at Addington Raceway a treble is no easy feat, two of the winners, Watermelon Sugar and Bluto were bred and raised at Woodlands Stud and sold as yearlings through NZB.
Watermelon Sugar brought up Carter Dalgetyās 50th driving victory, he is a driver who has had a great association with the progeny of Sweet Lou in his short career to date including horses like Mitzi Gaynor and Sundayās impressive winner at Rangiora in Sweet Coco.
WATERMELON SUGAR REPLAY
Bluto put his best hoof forward winning the final race of the night in tremendous style by 3 Ā¾ lengths in a 1.56.2 mile rate. He has now had five starts for three wins and a third for Brent and Tim White and pilot Kimberly Butt.
Raklou picked up her second win at her third start and did it in style sitting parked and clearing out to beat her rivals by over three lengths. It was a cool, calm drive by trainer/driver Peter Hunter who trains this exciting filly for breeder/owner Brendan Fahy.
Across the ditch there was no shortage of outstanding performances by his progeny, the highlight was an impressive quinella in the $100,000 Wagga Wagga Regional Championship Final. Brooklyn Bridge crossed the line first, winning by nearly 13m ahead of Louthario. The win was Brooklyn Bridgeās seventh from just 10 starts and it looks like he has plenty left in the tank. Congratulations to trainer Ellen Bartley and owner Ray Moore. The gelding was bred by Botsky Pty Ltd.
His first two doubles of the day came at Ballarat and Launceston in Australia. At Ballarat,Ā Cheerstolou and Chivalry both saluted the judge and at Launceston Didyalousaroosta and Baby You A Song were both too strong for their rivals.
He then topped the night off at Gloucester Park with an impressive double. Tiger Royal took out the first of the night, winning his 12th race and Otis was a winner later on the card. He also had another winner at Redcliff in Queensland when Louās Dream was victorious.
