Leading New South Wales harness racing conditioner Jack Trainor has headed back to his homeland of New Zealand on a mission.
The 27-year-old left Sydney on Sunday to contest Australasia’s inaugural slot race, The Race, at Cambridge tomorrow.

A slot was purchased for Trainor’s mare Stylish Memphis who has drawn barrier one in the $NZ900,000 event.
Trainor is also the caretaker for the Jason Grimson-trained Majestic Cruiser in the feature.
“It’s great to be home,” Trainor said.
“The horses have settled in great. “Memphis has been here many times so it’s like her third home and Cruiser is an old professional.
“We couldn’t be happier with them.”
Both pacers had a hit-out on Tuesday as a final ‘touch up’ before the big feature.
“It wasn’t a serious workout just something to keep them ticking over as if they are not ready now they will never be,” said Trainor.
Stylish Memphis, a dual Ladyship Mile winner, was bred and born in New Zealand. Fellow Australian pacers in The Race include Alta Orlando and Mach Dan.
