Harness racing hits Ashburton again today with ten races on the card. The racing starts at 12:20pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good afternoon of racing.

Race 1

Cappaha (5) Racing well and mobile helps. Only needs to stay trotting to go close in this
Courtney May (4) Nice second last start and top driver booked. Can run top three again
The Fiery Countess (2) Looks the likely leader and might take some stopping. Has winning claims

Race 2

Mystify Me (6) Will be better after his last start sixth. Hard to beat with natural improvement
Field Of Poppies (7) Conditions suit and winning claims in this field but will need luck
Lawyer Girl (4) Has been unlucky in some of her races. Can surprise with the right trip

Race 3

Whatablaze (1) Trialing ok and stable have a good record with debut runners. Hard to beat.
Miki Bennett (4) Big on ability but lacking manners. Has to go close with no mistakes
God Of Thunder (8) Trials have been very good. Needs to produce a similar run to figure strongly

Race 4

Maria Allegonda (5) Racing well in stronger fields. Has to rate highly and looks the early leader
Sir Monty (1) Likely to get a cosy trip and top driver booked. Can run top three at longer odds
Eastwood Dream (6) Freshened but can run time. Top three chance in this field

Race 5

Wynberg Watch (11) Racing well and has a big finish. Will be running on at the finish. Needed
Ruthless Lizzie (8) Could be the blowout in this with her speed. Chance at big odds with manners
Spells Of Love (4) Disappointing last start but should bounce back stronger here. Include

Race 6

Hey Tonight (12) Runs some very strong races and top driver booked. Can win if the pace is on
Times Are A Changin (14) Tricky draw but has a nice finish when saved for one run. Can improve
Franco Cornel (13) Draw hurts but in good form. Dangerous with a late cart into the race 

Race 7

The Falcon (6) Likes to lead and hard to run down if he can find the front. Rates highly here
Buckskin (5) Has run some good races on grass but goes ok on grit. Place chances best
Terry (7) Has been disappointing but conditions suit him here. Should be finishing powerfully-

Race 8

What A Minx (6) Never out of the money and could run a quick race here. Needed in combinations
Acento (4) Normally quick off the gate and could lead. Chance with the right run in transit
Play Philly (9) Drops back from racing the best mares . Can run a cheeky race from the wide draw

Race 9

Boyz Invasion (5) Running on last start and big track should suit. One for longer odds in this field
Rachmaninov (2) Gets a better draw to work with and strong track stats. Has winning claims
Martha Stuart (9) Sprint trip will suit as does the track. Quick beginner who should be thereabouts

Race 10

Get Back (8) Plenty of ability and a big improver for this race. Can go close here with luck. Include
Jordy (2) Bit unlucky last start and opened over the odds. One of the better chances in this
Flyaway (4) A bit one paced but has enough ability to be a decent chance in this. Needed
