Treacherous Love will now head to the $140,000 Group One Dunstan Horsefeeds Sires Stakes Final on Show Day at Addington.
āShe has a lot of gate speed so that puts you in the race.ā
Cold Chisel (Always B Miki) trained by Barry Purdon and Scott Phelan elevated himself to the top of the pecking order when he won the fifth heat of the Woodlands Stud Sires Stakes for two year old colts and geldings.
Bred by Mark and Pauline OāConnor and Owen Shaw and owned by Dean Shannon of Montana Park Pty Ltd, Cold Chisel had to sit parked for most of the trip as favourite Vessem (Vincent) made the running. It was a great battle down the straight with Cold Chisel prevailing by half a neck.
āHe felt really strong round the bend and got to the line really good,ā catch driver Tony Herlihy said. It was pretty good to sit outside Vessem whoās a good horse. Weāre rapt for Dean and everyone involved,ā Scott Phelan added.
The Group One $160,000 final held on Cup Day at Addington is the horseās next target.
āWeāll see how he comes through it. Itās still three weeks away and he doesnāt take much (work) so weāll see how he comes through todayās run,ā Phelan said.
