Former dual New Zealand Harness Racing Horse of the Year Auckland Reactor, who is now standing in Victoria’s Goulburn Valley, has sired the winners of $14,850,492 to date.
The richest Australasian bred horse at stud in Victoria, Auckland Reactor’s progeny earnings this season alone are $1,838,775 – his fifth million dollar season in a row.
He has sired 99 individual winners this year including 73 in Australia and they have banked $1.25million.
They include the Menangle winners Jazzy Star 1:50.9, Bridwood Bella 1:51.9, Reactor Factor 1:52.6, Arama Reactor 1:52.9 and Red Reactor, the Albion Park winners Red Trix 1:52.7, Hipstar 1:54.6, Congo Line 1:54.6, Mister Reactor 1:55, Grigora and Grove Dale, the Melton victor Stir Me Up, the Gloucester Park winners Blue Blazer, Secret Reaction and Johnny Lombo and the Globe Derby Park two-year-old winner Waitpinga Reactor.
Auckland Reactor’s offspring have won a myriad of classic and cup races on both sides of the Tasman.
Undoubtedly his best progeny were the 2018 NZ 3YO Colt of the Year and record-breaking Derby winner Chase Auckland 1:50.4 ($802,384) and the mare Soho Burning Love ($612,763), who, at one stage, was the fastest ever Australian bred pacer at 1:48.2.
Among his other top performers are Plutonium (WA The Binshaw), the dual Hobart Pacing Cup victor Willie Go West, Delightfulreaction, Jazzy Star, Reactor Now (Popular Alm FFA), Shining Oro (Vicbred Platinum), Gold Reactor (Redcliffe 2YO Sales Classic), Baltimore Jack and Brookie’s Jaffa (Wellington Cup).
Auckland Reactor has sired 12 inside 1:51 and 23 $100,000 earners.
Auckland Reactor proved himself a top ranking pacer when racing for Mark Purdon’s Christchurch stable, winning 32 races – including 19 at Group level – and being placed four times from 53 starts for $1,759,374 in stakes.
He took his record of 1:52.9 over a mile at Ashburton and clocked 1:55.9 as a three-year-old winning the NZ Flying Stakes.
A strong bay horse, standing 15.3 hands, Auckland Reactor is the fastest performed son of former champion pacer Mach Three outside America, and as a representative of the famed Direct Scooter sire line his influence continues to be widely exerted.
Auckland Reactor stands at Ashanti Park stud, Toolamba, near Shepparton, of Tony Peacock for a fee of $3,000 including GST.
