Harness racing driver Blair Orange added another two races to his tally yesterday at Addington Raceway and increased his lead in the drivers premiership to 33 wins over his nearest rival John Dunn.
Last night Orange won with Blitzem Bromac for Jack Harrington early in the program and then later won impressively on the Michael House trained Glitz And Glam, leading most of the way and winning untouched by more than three lengths.
Michael House had 10 runners entered at Addington and came away with a win, two seconds and two thirds.
“A lot of our horses have raced really good and they will back up really good next week,” House told Nigel Armstrong from Harness Racing Unhinged after the race.
“We just need some good draws, if you look at some of the draws tonight the way the races panned out, people should follow our horses next week because some of them have gone very very good tonight,” he said.
Michael House always a great supporter of the lower grade Tuesday meetings is unhappy with the way lower grade races are programmed in Canterbury.
“Lower class racing is hard at the moment,” he explained.
“The low class horses get too many options, so then what happens is you end up with a wide points (Ratings) spread in the races.
“One of the biggest problems we have is there is no policy on how the horses are raced in Canterbury and we need low grade races.
“We have never had a rating 35 race only in Canterbury but there are 30 rating 35 horses, ” House said.
Glitz And Glam winning the last race for driver Blair Orange.
Michael House is currently fourth on the trainers premiership on 36 wins, with the leaders Steve and Amanda Telfer a further 12 wins clear on 48 wins.
