Invercargill harness racing trainer Warren Bryant wasn’t at the races at Winton yesterday but still got a great thrill out of seeing his first starter Rising Storm (Raging Bull) sit parked and win over a mile by a length and a quarter in 1-55.0.
RISING STORM REPLAY
“It’s special. That’s what we do it for isn’t it,” Bryant said.

The win was hobby trainer Bryant’s sixth win.
Warren is in charge of Touch Southland and work commitments kept him away from the races.
“It was our first day of Primary and Secondary School touch so it was a big day.”
Bryant began his training career with Johnny Henderson in 2009 and trained two winners with him.
“I spent a bit of time with Murray Brown and Allan Beck. Tyler (Dewe) has helped me out in the last couple of years because we’ve been at the racetrack together.”
Rising Storm is the first foal out of Real Desire mare Rahuri Desire and prior to yesterday’s race had won a trial and a workout.
“I was pretty confident he’d go close, but you never know with first starters. He’s a nice horse who can run.”
Former trainer Steve Lock helps Bryant out in the mornings at his West Plains property and he geared up the gelding for him yesterday helped by driver Peter Hunter and his wife Jo.
“When I qualified him I really liked him and he went well at the workouts here last week so I thought he was a good chance,” Hunter said.
From a wide draw Hunter pushed to the go button and quickly moved to the parked spot as Itsallaboutthemoney sped to the lead.
“He’s a lovely horse and just dropped the bit.”
Up until yesterday’s win there’s been little interest in the three year old but that’s changed now.
“Everything’s for sale but I think we’ll look at heading to the next Supremacy heat,” Bryant said.
