Before Xmas last year, Brad Williamson was going through a bit of a rough patch where whatever he did in the bike didn't work.
His father Phil jokingly suggested that if I was going to do a story about Brad winning a race I might have to wait a while.
Nureyev took care of that at Winton just before the New Year and Brad has been bringing them home first with great regularity ever since.
Tonight he achieved another milestone when he drove his first winner at Alexandra Park.
What made it even sweeter was the fact that the horse he drove was his father's trotter Pyramid Monarch who cruised to an emphatic win in the C1-C3 trot for junior drivers.
Away like a bullet from barrier three, Brad bowled along in front at a good clip before scooting home from the 800 metres in 58.1 and the 400 metres in 29.3 to give nothing else a look in.
At the finish Pyramid Monarch was 2 1/2 lengths to the good of Very Persuasive with Makarewa Jake a further 4 lengths away in third.
Brad was over the moon with the win.
" I am absolutely rapt to win a race here"
" The mare has gone super and won with a leg in the air to be honest," Brad said.
Pyramid Monarch can do things wrong early some times but Brad says it all went to plan tonight.
" She can be a bit fractious at times."
She either goes away at full speed or doesn't go away at all."
"We got a nice wee walk in tonight which helped," Brad said.
The bad news for her rivals in the next few weeks is Brad thinks she can only get better.
" That was her first look at Alexandra Park and she should be better for it."
"She should be very hard to beat next week," Brad said.
Brad started the season rather slowly but in the last few weeks he has been in great touch all over New Zealand and shown why he is so highly regarded by a lot of the southern trainers in New Zealand.
