Cameron Grant joins Woodlands Stud

Woodlands Stud is pleased to announce the appointment of Cameron Grant as their New Zealand Sales Representative for the upcoming breeding season.

Grant will work alongside current New Zealand Sales and Marketing manager Stacey White to promote the seven world class stallions on offer at the stud – Bettor’s Delight, American Ideal, Sweet Lou, Downbytheseaside, What The Hill, Lather Up and Speeding Spur.

Born and raised in Ashburton, harness racing is a big passion of Grant’s. He breeds and owns standardbreds, along with also helping his wife Jessica Young-Grant training her team of horses.

He has dabbled in real estate and also did a stint with PGG Wrightson in the Standardbred Division where he made some strong connections to the industry. He is a keen golfer and always looking for a game.

“I’m always more than happy to have a game with anyone in the breeding industry who might want to enjoy a game while chatting about horses.”

Co-owner of the Stud Andrew Grierson said. “Cameron is an approachable man who is very enthusiastic and passionate about harness racing. We think he will be an asset to the Woodlands team”.

Within his new role Grant will be responsible for building relationships with breeders and taking bookings for the sires.

“I’m excited to work with a strong stud farm who has a great range of stallions to cross with a number of different mares in New Zealand. My goal is to gain the awareness of our stallions and to grow the number of foals being bred into the standardbred industry.

“I want to do this by giving a really personal service to everyone who wishes to breed or look into breeding horses to get the best results we can,” Grant said.
