As the business end of the harness racing season cranks up, more of the better horses are appearing with bigger goals on their programme.
Branxholme trainer Nathan Williamson takes some of his best to the Northern Southland meeting at Ascot Park tomorrow and if they perform well a trip to race in Mid-Canterbury and Christchurch will be on the cards.
Ultimate Weapon (Bettorās Delight) lines up in Race Two. Heās had just a handful of starts and has been left to develop into his big frame. After finishing second on debut as a two year old his formline plateaued. He led and won his workout last Saturday at Wyndham and looks a lot stronger this time in.
Classy filly Captains Mistress (Captaintreacherous) returns to racing in Race Three. In the first part of the season she won two of her three starts including the G2 Bionic Chance Bracelet.
She too won her heat at last weekendās Wyndham Workouts and Williamson has labeled her as the stables best bet.
Four year old trotter Flying Without Wings (Pegasus Spur) has won four of his twelve starts and gets a chance to add to his record in Race Six. He powered home up the passing lane to win his last start at Ascot Park four weeks ago and has been given one workout since.
Three year old gelding Miraculous (Bettorās Delight) has won four of his eight starts. He had his last start at Addington in May and has had two workouts to get him ready for his return to racing in Race Nine.
