Captaintreacherous domination continues

With Grand Circuit harness racing now underway in North America and the last of the individuals States, Sire Stakes programs coming to a close, the real battle for leading money winning Sires begin to take place. Especially for the two-year-olds.

Captaintreacherous
Captaintreacherous. His  progeny are in hot form around the world

For commercial breeders down under in Australia and New Zealand there is a major change in the breeding world taking place and in a year or two the sires that have dominated Down Under Sires list over the last few years will begin to fade and a new generation of Sires will take over.

The fact is these young new Stallions are taking North American racing by storm right now.

This new generation of Stallions is headed by the sensational Mach Three stallion Somebeachsomewhere and his great son Captaintreacherous.

Such is the impact of these three sires you only had to see the results of last Saturday night’s racing at Mohawk Woodbine Raceway. The richest all-aged pacing race for the boys in North America was the $590,000 Canadian Pacing Derby and here is the result;

1st Allywag Hanover 4yo ($895,945 – 1:47.1) by Captaintreacherous

2nd Catch The Fire 4yo ($1,183,459 – 1:47.2) by Captaintreacherous

3rd This Is The Plan ($2,543,217 – 1:47.3h) by Somebeachsomewhere

4th Cattlewash ($1,177,787 – 1:46.4) by Somebeachsomewhere

5th Century Farroh ($1,544,387 – 1:49) by Mach Three

For the all-aged pacing mares the same night, the $316,000 Roses Are Red Final here is the result;

 1st Lyons Sentinel 4yo ($1,794,972 – 1:48) by Captaintreacherous

2nd Rocknificent 4yo ($844,154 – 1:49.1) by Captaintreacherous

Traditionally it is very difficult for four-year-olds to compete at the highest level against the older horses but not so for the Captaintreacherous progeny above as they are all four-year-olds.

Those breeders that thought Captaintreacherous progeny might not go on as older horses can think again as he dominates North American harness racing sires lists again in 2021.

Captaintreacherous as of the 5th of September 2021, leads the two-year-old sires list in North America. He has led each year since his first progeny hit the track except last year when his own sire Somebeachsomewhere was number one.

In 2021 Captaintreacherous once again proves his versatility by clearly dominating his rivals to date with just four months to go of the current year. It is interesting to see that his sire Somebeachsomewhere and his sire Mach Three, all make it into the seven top producing sires in North America.
