The emphatic end-to-win of Yianni in the Group 3 $30,000 Alabar Vicbred Championship Final at Bendigo on Saturday night (August 28) was a highlight of a brilliant day for the former champion New Zealand racehorse and now highly successful sire, Changeover.
Yianni, who a week earlier won a heat of the Championship, tipped his stake earnings over the $100,000 mark. He rated 1:56.5 over 2150 metres with the last 800 in 55.9 seconds.
The Changeover pair, Platinum Revolution NZ (1:53.9) and Kash Us Back (1:57.7), won at Menangle and Albion Park respectively on the same night.
Platinum Revolution, who produced a barnstorming finishing run from near last, collected her 13th lifetime success, while Kash Us Back, courtesy of the passing lane, notched win No. 18.
Other Changeover winners for the week have been Just Ralph (1:54.8, Wagga), Overpowering (1:58.7, Globe Derby Park) and the Horsham winner Presidentialchange.
Changeover, who stands at Burwood Stud in Queensland, has sired 61 individual winners in Australia this season for progeny earnings of almost $980,000.
