Another Williamson name will be on the race card at the Waikouaiti harness meeting at Oamaru on Sunday.
Charlotte Williamson will return to race day driving when she reins Shandons Bells (Pegasus Spur) in the last race for her husband Matthew.
āShe drives her a lot at home and with the meeting on our back door it means she doesnāt have to take the kids anywhere. Both she and the horse are in good form so hopefully that transpires into a good result (laughter),ā Matthew says.
Charlotte under her maiden name Purvis, began her career in 2018 and she drove an impressive fourteen winners in her breakout season.
Although itās been on the backburner due to the couple having three young children, returning to race day driving has always been on the radar.
Charlotteās last winner was Sheeza Sport (Sportswriter) at Oamaru in February 2020 For Amber Hoffman.
She struck up a good association with aged gelding Four Starzzz Shiraz (Four Starzzz Shark) winning four races for the Brad Mowbray trained pacer.
In total sheās driven twenty one winners with nine of those for her father-in-law Phil.
