Freya (Volstead – The Earth Moved) Ā Saluting in the first of the night out of Addington, Freya made every stride a winning one from the ace #1 draw over the 1980m mobile. The maiden victory coming at race start #4 after a sound first campaign in good fields. Freya continues the broodmare success of The Earth Moved (Monarchy), a winner of 6 and mother to, among others, Crazy N love, a 3-time winner by Love You, and the impressive Mr Love, a trotter with stacks of ability who has scored on 5 occasions from 12 starts.
Post Painter (Terror To LoveĀ – Hanover Glory) Making it a maiden win at start #9, Post Painter had to overcome a wide barrier to score well in the 6thĀ of the night on Wednesday – a late outer burst from a 3wide sit enough to see the daughter of Terror To Love score by some 2 1/2 lengths. Breeding wise dam Hanover Glory has been a consistent leaver of winners – her progeny including the 2-tme winners in April RoseĀ (Mach Three)Ā and God Of ThunderĀ (Rock N Roll Heaven) Ā

Ferdinand (What The Hill – Fear Factor) Out of a marvelous trotting breed, Ferdinand took the fight to race rivals in the 3rdĀ of the night at Cambridge, bringing about a slim victory in the 2200 standing start event. The T Mitchell driven and trained runner seeing off favourite Stone Cold in the process.
The breeding behind the winner is a celebrated one, dam Fear Factor won 4 from 18 including a brace of G12 victories in 2006, her progeny includes siblings Prince Fearless and Stress Factor, a winner of some $250ā000, – both being by Majestic Son.
Spirit Of Waiheke (Bettorās Delight – Major Spirit) Racing and delivering as the favoured runner in race three out of Cambridge, Spirit Of Waiheke celebrated her maiden victory at start #5 on Thursday night – the Matthew White trained runner besting Bigger The Bettor by 1/2 a length in a time of 2.44.1 over the 2200m mobile trip. The win coming up after a sound 2ndĀ at the track in late April. Spirit Of Waiheke is out of Major Spirit, becoming the third winner from the dam after Fourth Amendment (American Ideal)Ā and Sweet Spirit (Sweet Lou)

Mako (Downbytheseaside – Lincolns Delight) Ā A powerful display on debut means Mako is certainly heading in the right direction at a decent pace. The Arna Donnelly trained 3yr-old gelding became the first winner left by the American Ideal mare Lincolns Delight with a full brother, Secret Bid, also on the ground.

Ya Rite Darl (What The Hill –Ā Gogirl Bromac) Delivering on recent strong workout form and an impressive 3rdĀ on debut, Ya Rite Darl got things right when they mattered to score a maiden victory at start #2, the Dunn trained runner beating out Carla Pixie and Massive Merc in the 1stĀ of the night. By What The Hill Ya Rite Darl is out of a 3-race winner in Gogirl Bromac. The wider family is known through the racetrack efforts of Lilly The Pink (Jazz Cosmos) winner of some 13 races.

Winton 11thĀ May
Franco Sailor (Bettorās Delight –Ā Selena Franco) Improving to a maiden win at start #4, Franco Sailor accounted for a limited field of rivals in the first if the day out of Winton. The effort was a strong one too – the mile trip completed in 1.59.6 to win by a healthy 4 length margin. Franco Sailor, is out of the 4-win mare in Selena Franco (McArdle)Ā with Commander Ben (Art Major) being a 1/2 brother. The family is one known for its speed with grandam San Rafaella winning 10 from just 18 starts.

Southside Of Heaven (Rock N Roll HeavenĀ – Debnita Rose) Another strong winner out of the Brent McIntyre stable, Southside Of Heaven produced a sound run over the mile to score in the 2ndĀ of the day. The victory, on debut, came after a good grounding at trials and workouts dating back to February of last year. Ā The win meaning that the dam Debnita Rose is now a winning broodmare.
Galleons Grandson (Majestic SonĀ – Rae Galleon) A royally-bred trotting maiden winner out of the Phil Williamson barn. The debut win of Galleons Grandson proved a good one with Brad Willliamson holding the second favourite together in the run to the line to win but just under a length from Petite Trixton and Prohibited Bid. Ā Galleons Grandson is a close relation to the classy Daenerys Stormborn, a 9-time winner by Love You.
Big Boyz Toy (Art Major – Love A Christian) It took 11 starts but the big boy is now a race winner. The Green trained runner sitting parked throughout and finding enough late to claim the win in a tough display. Dam Love A Christian (Christian Cullen) was unraced but is 100% as a broodmare when it comes to leaving the winners, both Sarah Burt and Wotsonyamind have also been victorious on the track.

Kairaki Spur (What The HillĀ – Madam Spur) A most impressive debut winner, Kairaki Spur made good on some strong recent workout and trial form to comfortably win the 1st of the day out of Ashburton, the 4-length win coming up in 3.09.2 over the 2400m stand trip. The associated breeding suggests thereāll be plenty more wins in store too with dam Madam Spur winning 5 during her time on the track and granddam Merinai being a celebrated squaregaiter that won some 19 races from just the 27 starts.

Flying Ashes (Rock N Roll HeavenĀ – Ashes To Wings) Flying to a maiden victory in the 2ndĀ of the day over the 1700m mobile trip, Flying Ashes, appearing out of the L Jones barn, led and dictated terms, fighting off late challenges to score a maiden victory at start #3. The victory was the first run out of the stable for the runner who was formerly trained by Tom Bamford.
Kada (Bettorās Delight – Kashana) Another great damline leaves a mark with another maiden winner. Kada, helped by a mid-race skirmish that took out a number of race rivals, secured its maiden victory with a late burst of speed down the outer of the Ashburton track to snare a victory from the fighting Biggles in the shadows of the winning post. The overall time 3.04.2 over the 2400m stand trip. Kada had recently found the line well at the Rangiora meeting on the 5th of May behind Chicago Bear. Dam Kashana won 3 times and has left the two-time winner in Kalasa and another victor in Kalatra, both by Bettorās Delight.

Trojan Princess (Art Major – Under The Odds) Another maiden victor at the first race day appearance, Trojan Princess upset the well favoured Ragazzo Major in winning the 4th of the day out of Ashburton. The Devon Dolan driven 3yr-old doing enough on the passing lane to bring up a small margin over the Dalgety trained runner. Ā The Purdon trained runner is a full sister to the progressive 7-time winner in Artisan while the 1.47 USA performer Underthesouthernsun is also a sibling. This being the family of the superstar Under Cover Lover.
