Copy That wins the New Zealand Trotting Cup

North Island harness racing pacer Copy That (American Ideal) has won the New Zealand Trotting Cup in the hands of in form driver Blair Orange at Addington Raceway today.

Copy That was slow early before ripping around to the lead after 800m and then controlling the race from the front. In the straight Copy That had plenty in reserve and easily held out the favourite Self Assured to record a comfortable victory.

Self Assured did well for second with South Coast Arden and Natalie Rasmussen a brave third. The time for the 3200m stand was 3-58.8.

It was the second win in the big race for Blair Orange. He also took out the Cup in 2019 aboard Cruz Bromac.
