Taking in trials can be a sound way of getting your next winner or value runner.
In Harnesslink Trial Time we look through those that have impressed at recent trials and should be on your radar when they appear in race day fields.
A slushy Rangiora played host to a full trial card on Wednesday. Weāve highlighted a few performers that caught our eye for you here.
The Telfer trained Cyadoit (Art major – Cyathea) won the 5th heat of the day with a little more to give from a running line sit and should be followed closely when reaching the track this time in. The 2yr-old gelding has placed on one occasion (on debut behind Obsession in March) from 4 starts. Heās well bred being a close relation to both Cyamach and Star Of Montana.
Desbois – Iāve always liked this trotter chiefly because thereās a lot to like about him. He looks the part and shows genuine ability. The 1 win from six starts simply doesnāt do his talent justice. His manners remain the issue and a early gallop in the 13thĀ heat of the day means that question remains but he was very good after settling down. Heās by Father Patrick out of Hot Pantsā¦and heās got hot hooves.
Plenty of wins to come from this horse.
Laver – (Art Major – Venus Serena) went around in the last heat of the day, the Special Handicap Pace, and impressed from the front of the pack. Heās a genuine staying type that I really do like over those tough 1980m mobile races. He was run down by Cranbourne late but appears forward enough to be a handful for race rivals when he appears on the track proper. Youād have to think heāll end up being a genuine open class contender in the future.
Remember Me – (Captaintreacherous – Adore Me) Is there a better pedigree than that? Iām not sure. Adore Me is doing a great job as a broodmare and this filly looks to have a bright future too. A late bid saw her get over the top of Tayla Me (from the same extended family) in the third heat of the day. Thereās a bit of size about her and she looked to cover the ground in a nice manner.
The sky appears the limit. Remember her.. Remember Me.
