Steve Dolan takes a reserved approach when talking about his harness racing filly Our Shangri Lana (Art Major) who will run in the Box Seat Ace of Diamonds on Sunday at Addington.
After winning the Sires Stakes for two year old fillies on Show Day, the filly led, trailed and stuck on for fifth, last Friday.
“She just had to burn too early and in hindsight I kind of wish I hadn’t gone to the race and left it for the Grand Prix day,” Dolan said.

Dolan said Our Shangri Lana came through the Sires Stakes race so well that he felt he had to start her.
“She was bright and jumping out of her skin. She tends to follow the gate like she’s tied to it and having to work so hard early had a negative effect on her.”
She comes up with barrier three in Sunday’s pacing fillies’ feature.
“She’s really good and I’ll give her another hit out on Friday and do a little bit of maintenance. It’s been a long season for some of these horses and I think we’ve timed our run pretty good but as I said I’m going into the race with a slight bit of uncertainty.”
Johnny Dunn will take the reins again and Dolan says the tactics will be totally left up to the experienced Woodend Beach driver.
The Box Seat Ace of Diamonds will be run at 3.54pm on Sunday and televised live on Trackside One.
