Down Under Winners from North America – 16th April

Coachella, a New Zealand bred daughter of Sweet Lou, cemented her spot in the $US125,000 Blue Chip Matchmaker Series Final at Yonkers Raceway on April 22 when she captured a $40,000 division of the final preliminary harness racing leg on Friday night (April 12). 

COACHELLA REPLAY

Starting from the pole, the five-year-old led in the early part, handed up briefly and regain the top before the second turn. She was untroubled to win her third race for the year in 1:53.6. 

Coachella was the third highest pointscorer in the series. 

The Bettor’s Delight mare A Delightful Act pushed her earnings to almost $US400,000 when she took out the $18,500 Fillies and Mares Open Handicap at Northfield Park on Saturday (April 13).  

After reaching the top at the end of the first quarter, the former Kiwi mare fended off several challengers to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:54.4.
