Down Under Winners from North America – 2nd May

New Zealand-bred pacers won five of the 12 races on Grand Circuit night at Yonkers Raceway on April 24 including four of the harness racing features.

Topping the bill was the bonny Bettor’s Delight mare Amazing Dream, who beat the best mares in commission in a brilliant front-end display in the $US328,200 Blue Chip Matchmaker Series final in 1:53.2.

It was the mare’s fourth win from five starts this year for $234,100, making her the richest female in America in 2023. She has banked $US1,485,034 lifetime.

Former Victorian mare Doug’s Babe finished third.

Delightful Catherine (Bettor’s Delight) took out the $US75,000 Blue Chip Matchmaker Consolation in 1:52.8. She has now won 23 races and $US468,200.

Hemsworth (by Sweet Lou) and American Dealer (by American Ideal) captured the $US100,000 and $US50,000 Borgata Pacing Series Consolations respectively.

Both bred by the late Charles Roberts, Hemsworth led throughout in 1:51.2 and American Dealer rallied late along the pylons to score by a head in 1:52.6.

Imprincessgemma, a NSW bred mare by Village Jolt, notched her third success for the year when she led from end-to-end in a $15,500 Open at Buffalo Raceway on Wednesday (April 26). The win lifted her lifetime bankroll to $US527,894.

The WA bred Patrickthepiranha (by Four Starzzz Shark) hoisted the fastest mile of the year at Plainridge Park at 1:50 when he outsprinted his rivals in a $US25,000 event on Thursday (April 27). It was his second straight success.

Shecandance, a NZ bred daughter of A Rocknroll Dance, won at her first start her new owner in a Mares Open at Rosecroft Raceway in 1:53.2 on Tuesday (April 25).
