Down Under Winners from North America – 30th May

Booraa, a New Zealand bred daughter of Mach Three, hoisted a fresh lifetime mark of 1:51.2 when she led throughout in the $25,000 feature at Plainridge Park on Tuesday (May 23). 

It was her third success from four starts in North America.

Former Kiwi gelding The Bird Dance (A Rocknroll Dance) posted his fourth success for the year and set a new seasonal mark of 1:54.6 when he won the Bruce Ranger Open at Cumberland Raceway on Friday (May 26). Lexus With A View, bred in NSW, who led most of the way, finished a nose second.

The American Ideal mare Waitforever proved herself among the top mares at Northfield Park when she came from near last to capture the $20,000 Open in 1:51.8 on Saturday (May 27). 

The win pushed her stake earnings beyond the $US160,000 plateau. 

Rockabilly Rebel, a NZ bred son of A Rocknroll Dance and a winner in 1:49.4 at Hoosier Park, and the Victorian bred Flying Art (by Art Major), a winner in 1:50 flat at Woodbine Mohawk Park, are the latest ‘down under’ pacers to enter the 1:50 list in North America. 

The Bettor’s Delight gelding Jacks Legend NZ clocked a flying 1:48.4 winning at Pocono Downs.
