Down Under winners with Carter Dalgety

Two Down Under Pacers break harness racing’s 1:50 mark.

Throughout the week we saw two down under pacers win their races in a sub 1:50 mile rate time. 

Colossal Stride A is back at the racetrack and know in Indiana at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. On Friday this son of Bettors Delight raced in the $22,000 Open Pace for his trainer Paul Sunderhaus and driver Trace Tetrick. The 6yo settled back from the starting gate and remained there until he crept closer to leaders and got home the fastest in 26.4 to win in 1:49.2. Sharing in the ownership in down unders Enzed Racing Stable Inc. When Colossal Stride A was racing down under he won 9 races and placed 8 times and picked up a Group 3 placing.

Then on Sunday in Philadelphia trainer Jennifer Bongiorno and driver Joe Bongiorno lead down under pacer Vettel N to a powerful victory. This son of American Ideal fired out from the one hole on the starting gates to hold the lead, clocking a first quarter in 26.0. He remained in front throughout the trip recording a first half in 54.4. It was even slits from then on as the 8yo found a kick in the stretch to hold off all challenges to get victory in 1:49.2 in the $16,200 Pace.
