Riverton Trotting Club President Tracey McMaster and committee member Bridget Stevens were in tears when Precious Memories (Majestic Son) won her maiden trot at the Riverton harness racing meeting today.

“It was very special with lots of tears because we never thought we’d get her to the races,” Stevens said.
The five year old who’s suffered from a few injuries, is named after two friends of the owners who are no longer with us.
“I lost my sister Christina Hunt with cancer just before Covid while Bridget lost her friend Sharon Johnson and that’s how we came up with the name Precious Memories,” McMaster said.

In today’s Riverton Rural Transport/Max Winders Shearing Trot driver Craig Ferguson took Precious Memories straight to the front and she won easily by a length and a quarter from Jay Bee Hill.
PRECIOUS MEMORIES REPLAY
Precious Memories is out of the four win Grant Our Wishes mare Hurry Curry which was bred by Tracey’s late father Bill Keast and won four races for Curly Thomas.
“Tracey and I were talking one night, she had Hurry Curry in the paddock and we decided to get her in foal. We went to Majestic Son,” Bridget said.

McMaster did all the early education with Precious Memories while Bridget’s late father Tony Stevens helped when the horse was three, prior to current trainer Chelsea Faithful taking over the training.
“She and her mother Louise have really looked after this horse. well and truly,” McMaster said.
Hurry Curry’s trainer Curly Thomas was also at the track today with his daughter Mary–Jane Thomas and they both enjoyed the win.
“There have been lot of family and friends who have supported us through this journey,” McMaster said.
