Ferguson has four good hometown chances

Local trainer Craig Ferguson won’t have to travel for Saturday’s harness racing meeting at the Young Quinn Raceway as his stables are situated on the track. And he has a powerful team of four ready to add to his excellent UDR.

Cochise (Father Patrick) debuts for Ferguson in Race One. He’s been to four workouts and two trials and is unbeaten at all his public appearances.

One of the young rising stars of Southern Harness last season Louies Girl, (Lord Forbes) resumes her promising career in Race Five, the fourth heat of the Southern Oaks. She’ll face just five rivals and her Group One place form from last season would suggest she’s very capable of winning this race.

Locally owned Da Vinci (Art Major) faces a quality field of mid to high end pacers in the $25,000 MLT Wyndham Cup. He’ll run off a 30 metre handicap against a handful of talented horses, starting off the front mark.

Netherton Franco (Always B Miki) gets a favourable draw for Ferguson in Race Nine. She likes to lead or race handy so the one marble suits.
