Young Wyndham harness racing trainer Craig Ferguson had a night to remember on Friday night at Addington when he trained a double on the big stage.
Grey trotter Smokin Bandar made the most of hot favourites Muscle Mountain and Sundees Son breaking in the main trot and he came up the passing lane to win easily by two and a half lengths. He trotted his last half in 56.3.
SMOKIN BANDAR REPLAY
āHe trotted nice and smooth and it was a really good run. He hit the line nice and still had the plugs in,ā Ferguson said.
In the last race Street Art (Art Major) made the most of his good draw to lead all the way in the hands of Nathan Williamson, beating Fernleigh Blackbird by a nose.
STREET ART REPLAY
āNath said he was still full of running at the finish. He wears a Murphy Blind and didnāt see the other horse on the inside so he said he could have kicked away a wee bit more. Weāll probably line him up in a fortnight and see how he goes taking that next step.ā
The Art Major three year old raced by Bathan and Jane Muir kept his unbeaten record in place and looks destined for better races later in the season.Ā
Ferguson whoās staying at Regan Toddās says Street Art, Smokin Bandar and Da Vinci will all stay and race in Canterbury for the next month.
This season Ferguson has had thirty one race day starts for twelve winners for an exceptional UDR of .5054.
