In a day chock full of harness racing features, on Sunday (Sep. 18) at Oamaru the three year old fillies will establish their pecking order and find out whether theyāre good enough to qualify for the Nevele R Fillies Final at Addington on Cup Day.
The partnership of Rolleston trainers Mark Purdon and Hayden Cullen have entered two horses.
Purdon is leaning towards Chambray (Bettor’s Delight) at this stage.
āSheās got the advantage on the other form runners in the field apart from Straight Flush, so sheād have to go close youād think,ā he said.
The other, Queen Of Diamonds (Bettors Delight) has won three of her seven starts and has been to the trials twice to fit her for Sundayās fillies heat.
āAlthough sheās carrying a bit of condition on her class sheās not going to be far away and if she got the right run, sheād be hard to beat.ā
Steve and Amanda Telferās runner Obsession (Captaintreacherous) adds to the puzzle.
āSheās very well at the moment. She had a bit of bad luck last time. When Tim made his run, he locked wheels, so it held her up. Sheās trained on well since,ā Amanda said.
