Trainers Steve and Amanda Telfer won a third heat in the six-race Lather Up series when Show Me Heaven eclipsed her rivals at Winton today.
The Telfers have also won heats at Cambridge with Little Suzie and Winton with Cloudy Bay. Little Suzie ran the fastest time of three North Island heats, assuring her owners of a free service to the Woodlands-based sire, Lather Up.

The final South Island heat of the series is at Ashburton on Thursday. The winner will need to better the 1.54.9 of Cloudy Bay to assure the owners a free service to Lather Up. Tim Williams, has driven Cloudy Bay and Show Heaven in their wins. He’s expecting to drive Cloudy Bay at Ashburton.
Show Heaven reached the lead early and dashed away in the closing stages to win by five and a half lengths in 1.55.6 for the mile.
“It was a good win and nice to find the front without too much effort,’ said Williams.
Show Me Heaven will return to the Canterbury arm of the Telfer stable on Monday after being in the care of Clark and Ellie Barron at Rakauhauka.
The Barron stable won a maiden race today with Joyfuldolly, who added to the fine breeding record of her dam Joyfulbelle. Joyfuldolly, a rising 3yr-old filly by Art Major was having her second start.
“We have always liked her and she got the run to suit today,’ said Ellie, who drove Joyfuldolly.
The filly is raced by Clark and Eric Parr, of Ashburton as the Miracle Lodge syndicate. Joyfulbelle has left Joyfuljoy, Bettor Joy, Fullofjoy and Jumpforjoy. Joyfuljoy won the Harness Jewels Emerald in 2009 and a Sires Stakes Championship in Auckland.
Bettor Joy won 10 races in NZ including a Ladyship Stakes and Yearling Sales Final for 3yr old fillies and took a record of 1.50.2 in North America. Clark trained Joyfulbelle to win an Equine Stakes at Winton and a Wyndham Cup.
Joyfuldolly’s time of 1-56.5 equalled her sister Jumpforjoy’s track record for two year old fillies.
