Harness racing trainer Jeremy Markham grabbed his first training win this afternoon (Jun. 12) when DD’s Super Stuart (Superfast Stuart) finished too well for his opposition in the Spectators Bar Trot at Addington Raceway.
Markham who is away defending his national indoor bowls title, has only had DD’s Super Stuart in his care for a couple of weeks and with father Carl on driving duties it was a special win for the Markham family.
“Everything fell right it was the perfect race for him,” driver Carl Markham told Nigel Armstrong from Harness Racing Unhinged after the race.
“He is a rating 40 to 50 type trotter and that’s his grade and today the distance, the rating system worked for him and bang he got the win,” Markham said.
DD’s Super Stuart received a perfect run in midfield on the outer and won comfortably by more than three lengths when angled wider in the straight.
Prince Ranier and driver John Dunn ran second and La Reina Del Sur and driver Bob Butt battled on well for third.
