On Monday night at Dover Downs, harness racing driver Ross Wolfenden achieved a major career milestone by winning his 7,000th dash win as a driver.
The win came aboard a horse that he trains, See YouĀ Tuesday, who won the 15th race pace on the card in 1:52. The eight-year-old gelding by Western Terror went off at odds of 37-1 and paid $77.80 to win for owner David Banks.

An elated Wolfenden spoke in the winnerās circle. āWhen I tipped him three-wide I knew he was going to win. Iām glad I won the 7,000th with a horse I trained.Ā It took a long time to get that one win.ā
Wolfenden followed his famed father Peter who was best known for his association with the great pacer, Cardigan Bay. Ross left his homeland New Zealand for the US. Wolfenden started his harness racing career in 1993.
āI worked for Paul Jessop and he told me that since I was training the horses you might as
well drive em,ā Wolfenden said.
Wolfenden won his first harness race at Monticello Raceway and later raced on both coasts.
In New Jersey, he raced at Garden State Park, Freehold and the Meadowlands for ten years. Wolfenden decided to move to Delaware where he has raced the last 18 years.
