Goulburn Valley harness racing nursery Galthorn Farm have been breeding horses for 20 years and the farm will offer five yearlings at the Nutrien Melbourne Sale on the weekend of April 13 and 14.Ā
With a well-deserved reputation as sellers husband and wife team of Garry Hawthorn and Jenny Gallagher are in the midst of seven weeks of yearling preparation for the five yearlings, three fillies and two colts, they will offer for sale in April.Ā
āWe rarely bring a yearling home as they are all for sale and as much as we hate to say goodbye, we are realists and we are happy to leave the training and racing side of things to the expertsā, Jenny said.Ā
Three of the Galthorn draft are by Captain Crunch whose first crop of Australian foals commenced racing a little over a month ago and he is already the sire of the smart Western Australian winner Captain Paprika.Ā
Captain Paprika won at Pinjarra on March 4th rating 1:58.6 over the 1684 metres. For a video of that race, click here.

The grand-dam of this filly is a half-sister to Australian Broodmare of the Year Sokys Number whose six 2:00 performers include four-times Group One winning Saab (21 wins and $577,197) and Australian 2yo Pacer of the Year Talladega which won 18 races and $411,680.Ā
