Ryal Bush horseman Brett Gray has eight in-form runners for the Invercargill Harness Racing Club’s meeting at Ascot Park on Sunday.
On debut, Jaccka Baylis (Creatine) was slow getting away before moving up to sit parked. He battled on gamely for second. He’s a chance in Race One.
A Major Starr (Art Major) ran out of puff when resuming four weeks ago and was reported to have had a slow recovery rate. He draws barrier six in Race Two.
Gray has two runners in Race Three – Connie Jaccka (Always B Miki) and Takeitout (Captaintreacherous).
Connie Jaccka had no luck when resuming at the Tuapeka meeting and gets a handy draw at One.
Last start winner Takeitout gets the outside draw in the six horse field and will be handled by Nathan Williamson.
Wehavetime (Art Major) has been in good form with two second placings since resuming. He was held up at his last start and ran home nicely to the smart two year old Quinn (Downbytheseaside). He has an outside gate at eight In Race Four.
Julie Jaccka (Father Patrick) has solid form this campaign and will start off the ten metre unruly mark in Race Eight.
Classy mare Joes Rock (Racing Hill) is the highest accessed horse with Robyns Playboy (Shadow Play) in Race Nine. She showed signs of a virus after her last start at Tuapeka. She draws the outside of the front row over 2200 metres.
Rounding out Gray’s day is last start winner Sea Fury (Always B Miki). He faces a tough field in Race Ten.
