Harness racing hits Auckland again today with ten races on the card. The racing starts at 5:50pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good night of racing.

Race 1

Five O’Clock Gerry (3) Much better draw to contend with here and racing well. Top selection in this
Brienne (6) Quick beginner likely to head forward early. One of the major chances in this field
Ultimate Moment (4) Has a bit of speed and a chance with a quick beginning. Has to be included

Race 2

My Copy (5) Getting fitter with racing and should go close here. Good winning chance
Benson Dude (7) Wide draw but has been ok against stronger fields. Has to be respected here
Riverboy Ben (3) Has the draw and respect the stable. Could sneak into the placings at longer odds

Race 3

Aardie’s Peak (10) Manners the key and hard to beat if he gets around without breaking. Needed
Emily Bay (1) Good last start and likely to head forward. Consistently close to the placings
Kawarau Lil (8) Has been disappointing but better than that. Could surprise with luck in running

Race 4

Bad Medicine (4) Has a decent motor and good win last start. Good winning chance again
Village Rebel (5) Driver change for this and does have a motor. First look at the course but include
Montana D J (8) Wide draw and will need luck but has ability. One of the better chances

Race 5

Itaintnecessarilyso (5) Racing well in strong fields. Can go close with no mistakes at nice odds
Kimkar Dash (3) Has been disappointing but drawn well and could surprise. One for longer odds
Regal Girl (1) Drawn to get a good run on the pegs. Should be close up at the finish. Include

Race 6

Treacherous Baby (1) Gear malfunction on debut. Drawn to be very competitive in this
Arden’s Memory (2) Race form ok and much better draw for this. One of the major players
Akatea (9) Should get a good run on the pegs and has speed. Can run a cheeky race

Race 7

Nicholas Cage (2) Good win at recent trials and might lead. Looks hard to beat with manners
Hooray Henry (4) Good upset last start and  hard to beat again if he can land a good spot early.
Fernleigh Cash (6) Ok last start and will step quickly. Good chance in an even field. Needed

Race 8

Sooner The Bettor (5) Good 3YO coming in fresh Should go close to winning in this field
Jolimont (3) Freshened and did run some tidy races last campaign. Could surprise at nice odds
Miki Shan (8) Good last start but wide draw hurts. Chance if he land a good spot early

Race 9

Katies Princess (5) Tricky draw but has the speed to be a contender. Chance if she leads
Seaclusion (2) Ok last start and should get a good run from the draw. Good winning chance
Whooshka (6) Won here in similar conditions last start. Same effort takes her close in this

Race 10

Le Major (5) In good form and only needs luck to be right in this. Should run top two
Hawkeye Pierce (2) Good placing last start in a similar field. Should give a good account
Escape Artist (3) Disappointing last start but look for form reversal. Top three chance here
