Harness analyst – Alexandra Park 20th August

Welcome to the Harness Analyst series where we take a look at New Zealand's harness racing with free previews,tips and reviews of trials and the previous weeks racing.

Harness racing hits Auckland again tonight with an eleven race program starting at 5:51pm and  we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good night of racing.

Alexandra Park Thursday 20th August 2020

Race 1

Sky Delight ok at workouts and can operate fresh. Good winning chance here.…… Miss Montana has been excellent at trials and workouts. Tote the ultimate guide but big winning chnace……. Dixie Reign stuck on for third last start and good place chance again here. Tricky draw an issue….. Royal Essence woked hard but held third fresh up. Place claims at longer odds in this field.

Race 2

Alta Wiseguy good draw to work with here and his first up second was tidy. Good winning claims if he can land the front early……. Better Call Me disappointing last start but prepared to give another chance. Can win on Addington form…… Last Tango In Heaven running on last start but tricky draw. Can run in three with luck…… Apieceoflou  has a bit of ability running some good races in strong fields but another tough field here. Can run top three with luck in the running.

Race 3

Jack Ryan  has not had a lot of luck in his last few starts but massive runs. Top three player for sure…… Cashlodo Flybye coming in fresh and workout ok, Good winning claims if he can clear traffic.…. Akarana Prince races best when on the speed and top driver on board. Not the worst here and can place at long odds…… Kuyomi nice draw and she should handle the rise in grade. Place chances best here.

Race 4

Miss Slippers good second in her last start and seems to be reliable from the stand. Top selection here….. Horace Horse coming in fresh and won nicely at his first start. Can repeat his first start win here….. Rain Mist And Muscle workouts have been good. Should get a run through from the draw and winning chance here…. One Majic Kenny has run some decent races but hard to catch. Needs to bring his manners but can win with no mistakes.

Race 5

Military Man has raced well in similar fields before and draw suits. Don’t mind him today, top selection….. Luke John has a lot of ability and running on last start. Needs the pace on and one run at them but can run top three… Major Rage likely to get a cosy run on the fence. Good place chance here….. Suidelike Major running good races in strong fields. Should get a run through from the draw and can place

Race 6

Man Of Action classy pacer at best and drawn to head forward early. Will be hard to beat if he can find the front ….. Hugo George ok last start and will be improved. Can run in the money here.…… Kerri Maguire getting fitter after racing in good form in her latest few runs. Needed here at nice odds.… Vespa running good races and drawn well only needs a good trip in transit to be a place chance here.

Race 7

Tommy Lincoln looking for a threepeat here. Will go close to winning this if he can find the lead early……. Christianshavtime massive win last start and drawn to get a cosy run in transit. Can win.… American Dealer should trail Tommy Lincoln here if he can hold out Silk. Can win if the pace is on all the way ….. Magilligan Point  racing god fields off trick draws and comes up with the front row here. Big improvement likely. Include at big odds

Race 8

Copy That beat this field easily last start but back to stand. Should win if he can step and lead……. Triple Eight tidy finish last start. Dangerous with a run close to the pace. Good winning claims.… Belle Of Montana will be better for the last start run. Stand an issue but she will be running on. Can win with manners….. Mach Shard  tricky draw but running on last start in a strong field. Winning claims if he brings his A-game.

Race 9

Bolt For Brilliance stand start still a concern but big on ability. Should win if he can step and lead……. Temporale 50m handicap a issue over the sprint trip but he is classy. Chance at big odds if he can step quickly.… Xebec will be better for the last start run. Stand an issue but he will be running on. Can win with manners….. Resonate  will be improved after his last start 5th. Winning claims if he brings his A-game.

Race 10

Nevada big on ability and top win fresh up. Cosy run on the fence his go and winning claims……. Shes no Lady draw not great but tidy second fresh. Can win but will need luck from the draw.… Hot And Tracherous has been freshened and draw suits. Should run top three here ….. Russley Rush will be improved after his last start 4th. Place claims best here.

Race 11

Alcatraz last two starts very good and not much improvement needed to be winning this. Top selection. ……. Uncle Louis manners an issue but would go close to winning this with no mistakes. Needed.… Emma Frost  has been freshened but can place here with manners.….. Spitting Image will be improved after his last start 4th. Reliable from a stand and can win with luck.
