Harness racing hits Ashburton again today with twelve races on the card. The racing starts at 12:35pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good afternoon of racing.

Race 1

Sigrid (5) Ran home well in a smart field last start. Can get some money with no errors
Instant Classic (3) Tidy effort at recent trials. Has ability but will need to step cleanly
Kawhi (8) Finished on last start at Kaikoura. Looks to be improving. Needed here

Race 2

Flo Motion (3) Has promised plenty and ran home well at Methven. Hard to beat in this
Chrislynn (2) Looks the early leader. Sprint trip suits and she can go close here.
Madam Ruler (1) Likely to receive a good run from the draw. Can run top three here

Race 3

Woodbine Rocks (6) Impressive run for second last start here. Hard to beat with manners
Rimu Valley (12) Good stepper who will be running on. Winning claims in this field
Kalasa (15) Unlucky run last start and has trialled well here. Can surprise with the right trip

Race 4

Jubilee Rock (6) Should improve on last start third. Capable of beating this field on her day
Melody Arden (8) Wide draw but showed speed fresh up. Can give a sight at longer odds
Ivona Dadic (9) Tricky draw but good recent trial. Might get over the top of them late

Race 5

Whats Wanted (1) Easy win last start and an improver. Needs to step but has claims
Magic Dash (14) Up in grade but good enough to be a threat in this. Needed here
Westar Milly (7) Has been disappointing but stand suits and she can place with luck

Race 6

Rakero Raider (5) Nice trial win last week. Hard to beat here if she leaves the gate fast
Commander Ben (4) Fast beginner who might be the early leader. Include in this field
Elephantintheroom (1) Likely to get a good run on the fence. One for longer odds here

Race 7

Sunnys Sister (2) Decent draw and getting better with racing. One of the major
Luby Lill (9) Has run some good races against stronger fields. Winning claims
Show No Fear (6) Slightly disappointing in a stronger field last start. Go again here

Race 8

Ruby’s A Delight (1) In form and drawn to be a major player in this field. Hard to beat
Taxman (8) Has gate speed and will head forward early. Could surprise with no attackers
Tane J J (9) Late scratched at Rangiora. Can run a cheeky race with manners

Race 9

Radioactive Jaffa (18) Ok at trials last week and track suits. Needs luck but can win
Hidden Desire (7) Good beginner who ran a good last start third. Major player in this
The Conqueror (3) Fast beginner off the front and easy win last start. Hard to beat

Race 10

Star Casino (14) Plenty of ability and draw the main concern. Can go close here with luck
Tempo Warrior (6) Out of form but is tough. One of the better chances at longer odds
Secret Delight (5) Did everything right last start and got the win. Can win again

Race 11

Test The Boundaries (16) Plenty of ability and big track suits. Chance here with manners
Salvo (11) Even field here but last three runs good. Top driver booked and is a good chance
Bennie And The Jets (12) Good beginner who raced well on the track last start. Needed

Race 12

Acento (5) Plenty of gate speed and should be the early leader. Can go close here
Foveaux Gambler (7) Back to the mobile and change of driver. Could surprise in this
Heat Seeker (10) Inside draw but will need gaps. Has the ability at longer odds
