Harness racing hits Ashburton again today with ten races on the card. The racing starts at 11:48am and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

Kairaki Spur (1) Good trialist who is on debut. Stable is on fire and hard to beat here
Forgiveness (3) Racing well and big track will suit. Should be thereabouts again Include
Call Me The Breeze (9) Flashed home last start and manners the only concern. Needed

Race 2

Kairaki Delight (10) Gets a pegs draw and can take advantage with any gaps. Top selection
Waterholes Road (4) Nice finish last start and on the improve. Not the worst at longer odds
Good Time Betty (2) Has gate speed and field not that strong. Could stick on for a top three

Race 3

Biggles (7) Big on ability and in good form. Needs to step but good winning chance here
Tasi Ahnau (6) Quick beginning last start got him second. Can run top three with similar
Major Tommy (10) On debut but trialling ok and could give some cheek with a good trip.

Race 4

Ragazzo Major (8) Wide draw but raced some good fields last campaign. Top selection
Trojan Princess (3) Well drawn and stable respect here. Good winning chance in this
Keltic Tiger (5) Better than the form suggests. Will be finishing on late here. One for odds

Race 5

Four Wise Women (6) Nice win on debut and should take the step up. Top selection
Transtasman Bubble (3) Previous form is mixed. Well drawn and could surprise here
Elizabeth Hill (7) Manners will be key. Can run top three with a quick beginning

Race 6

Obsession (5) Freshened for this but has raced the best mares. Can win if fully fit
Acento (3) Good sprint form and looks one of the better chances with her gate speed. Needed
Double Quick (8) Wide draw but a chance if she races handy to the speed. Top three chance

Race 7

Defy Me (10) Tidy fresh up record. Tricky draw but good enough to win if the gaps come
Blazing Reactor (9) Wide draw but can run top three if he goes forward early. Include
Georgie Zukov (8) In good form and trained locally. Will head forward and has claims

Race 8

Mandalay Bay (9) Conditions suit and has the form on the board. Will start favourite here
Shepherds Delight (7) Better than the form suggests and good beginner. Could surprise
Country Gold (8) Unlucky last start and  previous form was good. Top three chance

Race 9

Luvavici (8) Change of trainer and has plenty of ability. Can go close here with manners
Paris Prince (4) Better than the form suggests and due to get back in the placings. Include
Tectonic (10) Follows speed well and handicap the only worry. Top chance with manners

Race 10

Hope For Love (4) Front row draw and will go forward early. Can place here with luck
Kink (7) Running on last start. Good draw and one of the better chances in this. Needed
Not Over (5) Likely to race close to the speed here. Trained locally and has winning claims
