Harness racing hits Ashburton again today with eleven races on the card. The racing starts at 11:53am and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Best Value:  R11   Major Happy

Race 1

Sweet Maggie Mae (1) Stable on fire and this one has trialed well. Good chance here on debut
Joyride (5) Big filly who will appreciate the small field. Should be thereabouts at her first start
Vincent Reactress (3) Trial winner from an astute stable. One of the better chances in this

Race 2

Imperial Command (7) Wide draw and manners a concern but more ability than most in this
Dancing Glenis (6) Battled on ok last start. Chance again with the right trip. Include here
Solemn Son (10) Has the motor but still a bit green. Top three hope if he gets handy early

Race 3

Ari On Safari (9) Wide draw but begins ok. Should go forward and be hard to beat in this
Biggles (6) Tidy second last start in a similar field. Chance here with the right trip. Needed
Kairaki Delight (8) Front row draw helps. Back on grit will suit and one of the leading hopes

Race 4

Tinkerbelle (3) Manners the key but has trialed well on the track. Has to be respected in this
My Royal Break (7) Good at trial here late March. Can run top three in this with no mistakes
Father Time (1) Has been a bit disappointing but draw suits and he has raced in better fields

Race 5

Double Quick (5) Better draw to work with here. Can go close in this at nice odds. Needed
Take A Selfie  (4) Disappointing last start but that was a stronger field. Better placed in this
Champagne Nen (7) Likes the track at trials and a solid top three chance if she goes forward early

Race 6

Barrytown (9) Hardly ever out of the placings and will head forward early. Winning claims here
Prince Ranier (3) Racing in great form. Track stats not great but can run top three with luck
Randel Huston P (11) Driver change and trained locally. Looks a winning chance with manners

Race 7

Quicksmart (10) Won his only start on the track and top driver booked. Will need luck but can win
Dulcinea (9) Wide draw hurts but getting better with racing. Each way claims at nice odds here
Beeps (5) Has been unlucky and getting a good run will be the biggest concern. Could surprise

Race 8

Topaz (4) Unlucky last start and drawn to be a major player here. Good chance at nice odds
Superstar Legend (9) Conditions suit and likely to head forward early. Can give a good sight
Black Pearl (11) Running on last start. Should be improved and can run top three with luck

Race 9

Style Council (8) Conditions suit and has been in good form. Can get back to form here
The Conqueror (5) Stand start manners are brilliant. Will run a good race from the front
Hazer (11) No go in a big Methven field last start. Better placed here and can run a better race

Race 10

Royal Del (4) Front row draw and racing well. Hard to beat with manners and top selection
Bellerophonte (6) Good track stats. Return to form is likely with manners and a soft trip
Bonnie Bagrie (10) Ok last start. Improver here with the right run. Will be finishing on 

Race 11

Major Happy (4) Opened over the odds and should be a good chance of winning. Can go close
Straight Flush (5) Drawn to head forward early and then trail. Needed with top driver booked
Izacheapee (6) Likely to race close to the speed here. One of the better chances and in good form
