Harness racing hits Ashburton again today with twelve races on the card. The racing starts at 12:00pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

Feel The Moment (4) A bit iffy from a stand but good enough to win with no errors. Top selection
Kawhi (5) Has been good at recent trials.  Should be improved from last start so needed here.
DD’s Super Stuart (3) Getting better with racing and improver here. Chance at longer odds

Race 2

Bogle McNeep (10) Has looked ok at trials and has a private reputation. One of the better chances
Arden’s Pursuit (11) Slightly unlucky on debut and big track should suit. Place chance here
Raise The Devil (1) Good draw and not the worst at recent trials. One for longer odds here

Race 3

Sunny Louis (4) Racing ok and should be improved. Chance to get back in the winners circle
Hanover Da Moon (2) Good win last start and has won on the course. Can double up with luck
Bennie And The Jets (6) Could be close to regaining some form. Chance here at longer odds

Race 4

Madrid (1) First two were good and had excuses last start. Can go close here from ace draw
Melody Banner (9) Has the form on board and big track suits. Wide draw but has claims
Post Painter (10) Should get a soft run on the pegs. Could surprise with gaps in the straight

Vessem (1) Big upgrade in draws and a good chance to regain winning form. needed
We Walk By Faith (4) Good win on debut. This is harder but has to be included here
Piccadilly Pete (6) Worked too hard last start but driver change for this. Can run top three

Race 6

Millwood Nike (9) Unbeaten and should remain that way here. Short odds available
Forever Me (3) Better than the form suggests. Top three chance in this field at longer odds
Aardiebytheseaside (1) Has the draw to be a threat to most in this. Top three chance

Race 7

Walkinonsunshine (3) Nice win last start. Likely leader who will take some running down
Confessional (7) Coming in fresh but has the speed. Needs the right trip but can win
Aroha Kenny (2) Good second last time out. Similar effort takes her close in this. Include

Race 8

Jolimont (3) Tidy run in a strong field last start. Major player in this from the draw. Can win
Sooner The Bettor (5) Will head forward early. Winning claims if he can lead and then trail
Charlie Brown (10) Fence draw looks ideal. Not the worst in this and will be running on

Race 9

Self Assured (9) Track suits and stand the only concern here. Winning claims with luck
Akuta (7) In good form and should run a handy race again. One of the better chances
Heza Sport (6) Has been disappointing but a place chance if he puts it all together here

Race 10

Aardie’s Express (14) Tricky draw over the sprint trip. Will need luck but top selection here
Kikorangi Blue (6) Gate speed a plus here and should race handy. Top three player in this
Better’s Tart (7) Good enough on her day. Chance at longer odds with a cart into the race

Race 11

Muscle Mountain (3) Big track will suit. Nice draw and should give a good account. Include
Oscar Bonavena (7) Wide draw but big finisher. Can go three straight if he gets the right trip
Midnight Dash (2) Has been disappointing but better suited here. Place chance at good odds

Race 12

Destiny Dance (13) Steps up in grade but should handle it. Will be finishing fast in this
Adesanya (8) Better than the form suggests. Needs the right trip but can win. Needed
Shards Fury (2) Goes well on the track and drawn well. Could upset with a good run in transit
