Harness racing hits Ashburton again today with eleven races on the card. The racing starts at 12:12pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

Woodbine Rocks (9) Ran home well last start. Good winning claims with early manners
Rapid Response (7) Stand suits and battled on ok last start. Winning claims with top driver booked
Kalasa (11) Finished on last start. Needs to step but has trialled well on the course

Race 2

Hanover Da Moon (2) Raced well against strong opposition last start. Hard to beat here
Clyde (5) Has the speed to be very competitive here. Can run top three in this
Take After Me (10) Goes ok on the track but will need to trot all the way. Include

Race 3

Republican Party (6) Has the gate speed to lead here and should run a quick 1700m. Yes
Franco Mac (5) Good beginner who should race handy. Winning claims in this field
Sand Wave (7) Conditions suit and he could be over the odds. Can surprise at odds

Race 4

Millwood Nike (4) Looks the winner on form and has showed speed on the track previously
Luvstruck (5) Has run second to the favourite last start. Place claims loom best here
Kahlua Flybye (8) Tricky draw but racing well. Can give some cheek to the favourite

Race 5

Highgrove (7) One of the better chances if he can trot all the way. Needed here
Hot To Trot (2) Has gate speed and in red hot form. Major player in this field
Mystic Max (1) Good here previously and mobile an assist. Chance from the draw

Race 6

True Fantasy (6) Disappointed last start but had excuses. Will go forward and can win
Chambray (1) Good beginner who might land the early trail. Can spice up the exotics
A Bettor You (13) Drawn for a run through early. Has place claims with top driver booked

Race 7

Muscle Mountain (5) Big win last start and has the NZ record here. Should win again
Majestic Man (4) Has run some good races over the sprint and drawn to lead. Good chance
Enghien (2) Sprint trip his forte and drawn well. Can go close to top three here

Race 8

Beckham (6) Trialling well and has a big reputation. One of the major players in this
Final Collect (9) Tricky draw again but capable of a quick mile. Could surprise
Sherlock (3) Another with a big stable reputation. Drawn well and will head forward early

Race 9

Rock N Roll Doo (8) First start in New Zealand and a big test here. Will be very competitive
Alta Wiseguy (7) Quick beginner from a stand and in good form. Could surprise at odds
Self Assured (3) Hardly ever out of the placings and leading NZ Cup hope. Major player

Race 10

Darling Me (8) Draw the only concern but she has been beating similar fields easily. Yes
Stylish Memphis (9) Tricky draw but the sprint trip is her go. Can push the favourite here
La Rosa (5) Due to show some form and drawn inside the favourites here. Place chance

Race 11

No Matter Wat (8) Plenty of ability and building an impressive form-line. Can go close
Bri Express (9) Drawn wide but will head forward early. Good chance with a soft lead
Olive Cook (7) Has been drawing badly and no exception here. Could surprise with luck
