Harness racing hits Auckland again today with nine races on the card. The racing starts at 5:14pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Best Value:  R5  Nelson’s Boy

Race 1

Proviseur (2) Has been racing better fields and gets a good opportunity here. Include
Neymar (4) Racing well and should start favourite. Hard to beat in this field
Peter Forsberg (5) One paced but should hold his own in this field. Big chance here

Race 2

Aldebaran Allblack (10) Much better suited here right handed. One of the major players.
Aldebaran Pippi (14) Tricky draw but will be running on here. Could surprise with manners
Five O’Clock Gerry (9) Uncharacteristic gallop last start but could atone here. Needed

Race 3

Jethro Bodine (5) Obvious ability and coming in fresh. Liked in this field. Top selection
Benson Dude (7) Very good last start on the track. Looks a strong chance again here
Busload Of Faith (4) Building nicely and can improve further. Winning claims in this

Race 4

Kiwitrix (8) Conditions suit here and he raced well here last start. Top selection
Romeo Foxtrot (1) Gets a head-start on the favourites and driver change here. Needed
Liaison (9) Tricky handicap but good beginner. Big hope if he can get handy quickly

Race 5

Nelson’s Boy (10) Manners will be the key but has the motor to be a threat here. Include
Claude (6) Good win last start distance suits. Has to be respected again in this
Smokinhotcheddar (7) Wide draw but pops up now and then. One for longer odds here

Race 6

Aflyin Spur (8) Big third last start after working mid race. Looks capable of winning.
Lauries Legacy (3) Gets a head start on the favourites. Could be hard to run down
Run Forest Run (1) Top draw and racing well. Will like the longer trip here. Include

Race 7

Third Time (4) In good form and big run last start for second. Fitter here and can win
Frankie Major (3) Freshened but has the speed early. Could surprise in that condition.
Lincoln River (10) Second row draw but good enough to make his own luck. Can still win

Race 8

Emily Bay (3) Normally a good beginner and better for last start fourth. Winning claims
Aldebaran Crystal (8) Will need to step but has speed. Could surprise with manners
Aradne (2) Good third last start and should be improved. One of the better chances in this.

Race 9

Brookside Girl (3) Small field will help and good second in a stronger field. Good chance
Seasidestar (6) On debut but stable respect. Should go well with luck in the running
Day Dreamz (2) Big threat from the draw. Has winning claims after a good trial win
