Harness racing hits Auckland again today with eight races on the card. The racing starts at 5:50pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good night of racing.

Best Bet:  R4   Seaside Rose

Best Value:  R6   Jethro Bodine

Race 1

Ohoka Achilles (1) Looks like securing a trail here and that will suit. Needed here
I’llavabubbles (4) Has the speed to lead if she wants and can make it interesting. Include
Peter Forsberg (8) Good beginner who heads forward early. Could stick on for top three

Race 2

Mr Bondi (6) Getting fitter with racing. Good place chance in this line-up. Include
Hawkeye Pierce  (4) Has trialled well and top driver on board. Could surprise
Leo Lincoln (3) Racing well and gets a bonus run in this grade. Should go close

Race 3

Emily Bay (2) Normally begins ok and not far away last couple. Should race well again
Mazeppa (3) Better last start and should hold form. Drawn to be competitive here
Johnny Who (1) Races well on this track but manners not great. Chance with no errors

Race 4

Seaside Rose (6) Wide draw a worry but has oodles of speed. Top selection in this field
Seasidestar (7) Good win last start but this looks harder. Should be thereabouts here
Classic Elegance (5) Looked good winning trial. Chance in this field on debut. Include

Luby Lill (6) Ok in a stronger field last start. Look for a forward showing back in this grade
Five O’Clock Gerry (10) Running good races here the last couple. Place chance again
Faith In Manchester (1) Plenty of ability and can handle this field. Manners the only issue

Race 6

Jethro Bodine (8) Tricky draw but good enough to make his own luck. Chance at good odds
Third Time (10) Building fitness and rarely out of the money. Winning claims here.
Busload Of Faith (1) Nice draw and can run top three from a forward position. Include

Race 7

Springbank Mason (8) Good win on the track last start and  can go close again in this
Lauries Legacy (5) Plenty of ability and could surprise if he dictates in front. Include
Kings Landing (7) Good beginner who battled home well last start. Top three chance again

Race 8

Simply Sam (4) Good off the gate and might try to lead here. Winning claims here
Hesashorething (2) Has had no luck in recent runs. Will appreciate the better draw
Kahlua Flybye (6) Tricky draw but plenty of speed. Can race well fresh from top stable
