Harness racing hits Auckland again today with ten races on the card. The racing starts at 5:28pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good night of racing.

Best Bet:  R4  The Moonstone

Best Value:  R6   Resolve

Race 1

Bettor Heist (5) Freshened after some ok runs in better fields last campaign. Needed here
Challenger (2) Drawn to play a part early. Has winning claims in a fresh condition
Hollywood Nights (1) Big upgrade in draws and has ability. Can run top three with a soft run

Race 2

Tu Tangata (8) Has been galloping but would be hard to beat with no mistakes. Needed
Kiwitrix (3) Had excuses last start and unlucky prior. Big chance if he trots all the way
Dream Of You (10) Building up a good run of form. Needs to step cleanly but has claims

Race 3

Manhattan (7) Wide draw but has gate speed. Well placed here and goes well on the track
Miki Montana (1) Stable in good form and draw suits. Not the worst at longer odds
Harder Than Diamonds (5) Has been racing in higher class fields. Wide draw but not out of it here

Race 4

The Moonstone (6) Big strong trotter who looks hard to beat on previous runs. Include
High Step (4) Running on here last start and will be improved. Stable has to be respected
We Can Have It All (3) Travelling ok when she galloped last start, Needs manners to figure

Race 5

Self Assured (6) Racing well and looks the logical favourite for this. Hard to beat
Akuta (7) Has not had all the luck. Tricky handicap but can improve for this
Old Town Road (4) Gets a head start on the Purdon pair. Might take some running down in this

Race 6

Resolve (4) Good beginner who could take some catching if leading or trailing. Include
Love N The Port (5) Disappointing last few starts but good draw. Can run top three if back to his best
Oscar Bonavena (10) Drawn out the back but has speed. Goes close if he can get handy

Race 7

Millwood Nike (2) Unbeaten filly who looks a home run if over her injury worries.
Sweet Diamond (5) Racing well and looks a logical threat to the favourite here
Fortify (4) Second stringer for the Purdon stable. Can run top three so needed

Race 8

Confessional (7) Drawn well and mobile will suit. Hard to beat with manners
Tectonic (14) Good last start and will be running on here. One of the major players
Lovemeto (13) Tidy wins the last two and top driver booked. Can make it interesting

Race 9

Diamonds Are Forever (11) Better last start and can go on with it in this field. Good winning chance
Nelson’s Boy (2) Manners can be a bit iffy but has ability. Chance at odds with no mistakes
Throwyaarmsaroundme (4) Drawn the front and with a soft trip can run top three.

Race 10

Chimichurri (6) Good gate speed and could be the early leader. Might surprise here
Nicholas Cage (7) Ok last start but wide draw a concern. Win chance if the pace is on
New York Minute (3) In good form and will be running on. Can compete with this field
