Harness racing hits Auckland again today with ten races on the card. The racing starts at 5:29pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good night of racing.

Best Bet:  R5   Sooner The Bettor

Best Value:  R8   Aldebaran Pippi

Race 1

Sister Johnson (6) Up in grade but has a big motor. Has to rate highly from the mobile start
A Trophy Wife (8) Drawn wide but in form and might be good enough for a top three placing
Lovemeto (14) In good form and should go close to placing with the right run in transit.

Race 2

Supa Dupa Luca (3) Drawn to go forward early here and can stick. Needed for exotic bets
Jolimont (10) Fence draw and will be looking for gaps. Can run top three with luck here
Nelson’s Boy (6) Drawn ok and normally goes well on the track. Chance with the right trip

Race 3

Levi (6) Looked good at the trials against most of these. Widest draw but has winning claims
Luna Lou (4) Fair at the latest trials but from an astute stable. Looks a good winning chance
The Moonstone (3) Has won a trial and looked ok doing it. Good chance to run top three

Race 4

Anditover (11) Has been racing better fields and goes well on the track. Top selection
Escape The Pace (13) Tricky draw but has the motor. Will need luck but can place here
Kiwitrix (7) Wide draw but mobile suits. Winning claims with a cart into the race

Race 5

Sooner The Bettor (5)  Should be hard to beat and looks the leader here. Top selection
Miki Shan (1) Might trail the favourite and winning claims from there. Needed here
Ideal Kingdom (4) Good run to win last start but this is harder. Top three chance

Race 6

Muscle Mountain (3) Drawn well and looks a great winning chance. Hard to run down here
Aldebaran Zeus (8) Good win at Cambridge but this is harder. Has the speed to be a threat
Aardiebythehill (2) Might get a soft run from the draw but hard to see him beating the favourite. 

Race 7

Copy That (2) Drawn well and beat a similar field last start. Can lead all the way
Self Assured (9) Fence draw and will be hoping for luck. Can push the favourite with gaps
Smiffy’s Terror (1) Drawn to trail all the way. Can stick on for a top four placing here

Race 8

Aldebaran Pippi (8) Has a big motor and has been freshened. Winning claims with manners
Shesgold (4) Out of form but good enough to get a slice of the money here with manners. 
Aldebaran Crystal (11) Will need to step cleanly but has the ability. Good enough to figure.

Race 9

Punk Rocker (1) Big run on debut and change of trainer. Looks hard to beat with no mistakes
Bev The Goat (6) Quick beginner who is in top form. Might lead and can go close
Fergalicious (8) Will not be disgraced in this field after racing in age group previously. Needed

Race 10

Halberg (7) Drawn wide but might race close to the speed here. Not the worst at longer odds
Isolate (5) Coming in off the back of a good workout win. Good driver booked. Rates highly
Crown The Moment (6) Has raced well at Addington and will be competitive in this. Needed
